JOURNAL

Wedding Preparations

The more we try to prepare for our wedding, the more we realize how tedious this whole process is.

Just tonight — which is still 10 months before the wedding — we've listed out suppliers, reviewed our budget and finalized our guest list.

It tooks us 3 long hours of focused brainstorming to do all of those.

It's tiring.

But, we are enjoying the process.

Isn't this what being a couple is about?

As each day passes, we are both getting excited more and more.

It will all be okay

It's day 4 of my Intermittent Fasting and I've been hit with a very unfortunate sickness — food poisoning.

I've had diarrhea and constant vomiting in the last 24 hours.

What's even crazier is that every food I take in, I just vomit.

Food poisoning and Intermittent Fasting don't seem to go really well. But, I think I've managed.

I never took in any meds.

I just went through all the bathroom trips and gross vomiting.

It's tough. But, I think I feel better now that I've gone through a whole day of "letting it all out."

This made me realize that things have a natural way of healing themselves.

Sometimes, there is no need for medicines and ways to force it to be okay.

You just have to go through every suffering and know that it's part of the process.

It's tough.

It may even take a while.

But, in the end it will all be okay.

Push

This morning, I woke up at 5:30 AM.

With my eyes half open, I stood up and prepared my stuff to go to the gym.

I then sat down for a while. I was really still sleepy.

My body was screaming to go back to bed and my mind was trying to cooperate by telling me thoughts like "working out when you're tired is not good."

I almost fell for it... almost.

What I did instead was I pushed myself, went to the car, drived safely and carried on with my workout.

Turns out I was still able to finish my workout and it felt really good.

It felt even better that I did overcome those lazy thoughts in my mind and still pushed through with one of the hardest (yet the most rewarding) tasks of the day.

I think this is how I should go about my 2019.

It will be a constant push regardless of how uncomfortable and tiring a situation would be. No room for excuses.

In the end I know it is all going to be worth it.

29th

Today, I am celebrating 29 years of God's faithfulness in my life.

I have a wonderful family, a fantastic job, a loving fiance, good health and a lot more blessings that I could never have imagined that I would have.

It is easy to overlook what God has done if I only look at all the stuff I lack.

But, I choose to see all the blessings and the favor that is in my life. This perspective has not only made me content but more importantly grateful for everything that I have.

This is going to be a special year.

So many huge milestones are happening this year in my life and I couldn't be more excited.

Looking forward to a more fruitful 2019!

Grateful

2018 is almost over.

Everyone's preparing for Christmas and the holiday season.

Buying gifts, Christmas parties, reunions, etc.

One of the things I like to do personally is to list the things that I am grateful for.

I feel like it is a great way to evaluate how great the year has been.

So here it goes. These are the things I am grateful for.

1. I am grateful for family

My family has always been there for me. They support me with whatever I want to do. And, I can always count on them.

Being grateful for having them in my life also makes me realize how blessed I am. My family is complete. A lot of people wish their family is.

2. I got engaged this year!

Today is finally the year I decided to take a leap forward with my life. Everybody has been asking me when I would propose to my girlfriend.

This year the proposal happened.

Next year, we're getting married. It's going to be a new chapter and challenge for both our lives. But, we're excited.

3. I enjoy the work I am doing

I have been working remotely since 2009. I've been working in the same company for over 9 years.

That is for a good reason.

I continually grow and learn new stuff. They provide me with opportunities to become better.

This year, we also got to go to Bali, Indonesia because we just launched the largest remote work conference in the world!

4. My spiritual family keeps me grounded

My church family is my extended family. I've come to know the Lord and I grew as a better person because of the spiritual family I grew up with.

This year was a lot of changes. But, God has been so great and by His grace the church has continued to grow.

5. Our house has been completed

Getting a house built is one of the biggest projects of my life.

It has been a financial drain. But, now it is actually completed.

What used to be something impossible is now standing and just waiting for us to make it a home.

There still are so many things I could thank God for.

I can't list all of them or else this is going to be a really long list post!

But, those 5 things above are the best ones that happened to me this year.

These are the things that just by looking back, makes me sigh and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness in my life.

How about you?

What are you thankful for this year?

100%

Proud to say that our house is now 100% complete.

Though it's ready for turnover, there are a number of repairs that need to be done.

Nevertheless, I am very much happy that we are now here after around 8 months of construction.

Also, this is the start of the next chapter of my life.

Nothing but excitement in my heart right now. :)
