Merge Two Google Plus Accounts Using Google Takeout
Fast forward to today, Google Plus is already public with a growing number of users. In addition to that, I was able to create another profile using my company email. It created a certain problem which bugged me just recently though. I had two Google Plus accounts with the same information!
At first, I wanted to just get rid of one. But, I don't want to lose any important person on my circles. So, my googling skills led to discover one really cool app, Google Takeout. It was just the perfect app to use at this situation. I wanted all the Google Plus information (circles, posts, etc) on my company email to transfer to and merge with my personal Gmail account. Here is how I managed to do it.
First, I had to log in Google Takeout using my source account (the company email). I immediately found 'Transfer your Google+ connections to another account.' So, I had to click that.
It's actually an easy process. I was then led to this window which gives the details of the transfer for me to confirm.
Here are a couple of reminders to take note too:
After I've confirmed everything, a pop up box appeared on the bottom of both my Google Plus accounts. It scheduled the transfer to happen a week after with the option to cancel it before that date (as mentioned above).
That's it. The only thing I have to do now is to just wait for Saturday (Sep 22, 2012) and see how this magic of Google Takeout will work.
UPDATE:
Google has successfully transferred all of my Google+ account data to the gmail account. I already deleted the one I created from the company email. So, I'm left with only one Google Plus profile now. Mission accomplished!
