Purchasing a US iTunes Gift Card Outside the US

iTunes Cards {033/365}

Months ago, I posted a tutorial on how to create an iTunes Store account without a credit card. That post helped a lot of people who are new to iOS and Apple devices.

Having that kind of account has 2 benefits:
1. You have an account on the US iTunes Store (which has the widest selection of apps and media than any other country)
2. You have an account that is not linked to any credit card (Credit cards are mandatory in other countries)

Though that may sound like an awesome account, the issue with having it is the fact that you only get to download free apps on the store. That may be a limitation that is okay for some. But, some users (like me) would still want to download paid apps even without a credit card.

There are a number of solutions for this. However, the most common solution would have to be to purchase a US iTunes Gift Card.

The US iTunes Gift Cards come with a code that you can redeem at the App Store or iTunes Store so you will have the corresponding credit to purchase apps and media.

These cards can be bought online or in any Apple store.

However, for the benefit of my readers who are not from the US and want a convenient way to purchase these cards online, I suggest you check out TunesBud.

They have every iTunes gift card available online and you can pay them via PayPal (the most convenient and most preferred payment online). That sounds pretty convenient right?

If you want to check out their service, check them out here (click on the image):

They only charge a small percent to keep their service up and running. But, I can guarantee you that they deliver well. The code will then be emailed to you as soon as the payment is confirmed. Once you have the code, you can redeem it on your US iTunes Store account. You will then have the credits you need to buy those paid apps that you want.

Enjoy your paid apps and happy downloading!

If this post helped you or if you have questions, just leave them out on the comments section below.

How To Create An iTunes Store Account Without A Credit Card

We just got off the holiday season. The most requested gifts were probably iPhones, iPads, iPods and all the other cool Apple products. Chances are you are looking at this article because you have one or you just had one recently.

It's a really exciting feeling to have that first shiny new Apple product. Yeah. You got past that stage already. Now, you are faced with the most common issue people encounter with their devices.

"I need an iTunes Store account to download apps. But, I don't have a credit card."

I get that question all the time. Don't worry. It's not the end of your supposed to be fun iOS experience. It's just the start. Here's how you can do it on your computer.

STEP 1:

First things first. You need to make sure that:

A. You don't have any account signed in by default on your iTunes. The top left button should just have "Sign In" on it and not any email address.

B.  You are logged in to the US iTunes Store account. You can confirm that by looking at the flag on the bottom right of the window. If it's not the US flag, you can change the country from the Manage column.

STEP 2:

Now that you have changed your iTunes store to US, just browse for all the FREE apps on the store and try to download one by clicking on the "FREE" button.

STEP 3:

After you click Free, you will get this pop-up. Select "Create Apple ID".

STEP 4:

After you have selected "Create Apple ID", just Continue and go through all the End User Licensing Agreements. (tip: You don't have to read all of them)

STEP 5:

Provide Apple ID details on this window

STEP 6:

After you've filled your Apple ID details according to the specifications, you will get to this most awaited page - The Payment Method! Notice how there is "NONE" as a payment option. You select that. Then just provide the page with any fake US address. That will absolutely be fine.

That's it! Just continue with the registration. The next page will be just the verification of the email address and then you're done. You now have an Apple ID / iTunes Store account with no credit card on file! Congratulations! You can now download all the FREE apps you want.

Extended tip:

You can also do this on your iPhone, iPad or iPod. The steps are quite similar. You just have to start with choosing / downloading any free app on the App Store app. It will ask you to create a new Apple ID. Just make sure you select "United States" as the country. Then you can continue with the other steps.

Enjoy your new iOS device and iTunes store account. Happy downloading!

BONUS:
If at a certain point you want to purchase apps, here is how you can do so.

Gangnam Style Facebook Chat Code

There are actually a lot of pretty cool things you could do with the Facebook chat window. I bet you already know that. But, here is one cool thing I discovered today. It was actually shared to me by a friend.

I'm pretty sure as of now you already have heard of PSY and his worldwide smash hit "Gangnam Style." Of course, you've watched the video too (maybe several times even). But, did you know that you could put PSY on your Facebook chat window? Here is how he would look like:

Gangnam Style PSY on Facebook Chat Window

I'm not really a Facebook expert and this trick might be pretty old. But, whatever. I just think it's cool! Why don't you spam your friends with this PSY emoticon instead of asking them to 'Like' your pictures?

Anyway, let's get to the real deal. I'm sure you want to know how to do this (in case you still don't know). Well, it's pretty simple. Just copy this code:

Paste it on any Facebook chat window available. Ta da! There you go. Cue in "Gangnam Style" music!

What are you waiting for? Go ahead, impress your friends and enjoy!

Here is an alternate version if you may want some additional spamming:

Merge Two Google Plus Accounts Using Google Takeout

About a year ago when Google Plus was still in beta, I was one of those people who got invited by one of my friends to use it.  It was a cool new social networking site which originally required your Gmail account to set up a profile.

Fast forward to today, Google Plus is already public with a growing number of users. In addition to that, I was able to create another profile using my company email. It created a certain problem which bugged me just recently though. I had two Google Plus accounts with the same information!

At first, I wanted to just get rid of one. But, I don't want to lose any important person on my circles. So, my googling skills led to discover one really cool app, Google Takeout. It was just the perfect app to use at this situation. I wanted all the Google Plus information (circles, posts, etc) on my company email to transfer to and merge with my personal Gmail account. Here is how I managed to do it.

First, I had to log in Google Takeout using my source account (the company email). I immediately found 'Transfer your Google+ connections to another account.' So, I had to click that.

It's actually an easy process. I was then led to this window which gives the details of the transfer for me to confirm.

Here are a couple of reminders to take note too:

Migration of account reminders

After I've confirmed everything, a pop up box appeared on the bottom of both my Google Plus accounts. It scheduled the transfer to happen a week after with the option to cancel it before that date (as mentioned above).

That's it. The only thing I have to do now is to just wait for Saturday (Sep 22, 2012) and see how this magic of Google Takeout will work.

UPDATE:
Google has successfully transferred all of my Google+ account data to the gmail account. I already deleted the one I created from the company email. So, I'm left with only one Google Plus profile now. Mission accomplished!
