Life Goes By So Fast

Today, my nephew celebrated his 5th birthday.

He is a smart 5 year old and he definitely knows a lot of stuff already.

Together with his younger brother who is now 3 years old, these kids are growing up insanely fast.

It seems like it was just yesterday when they were still newborn babies and can't even talk.

Today, these kids can already make their own decisions and even reason out when they want to do something.

Apart from all the celebration we had today, I just realized how life goes by so fast.

Every day or every moment that I don't act on my goals or dreams is a wasted opportunity and there's nothing I can do to get those back.

So, while life goes on fast forward I better move.

Back When Things Were Simpler

I was observing my nephew while he was playing this afternoon.

All he cared for was his balloons. He was counting them, tossing them, figuring out how to fit them in one bag and much much more.

He was so happy and challenged at the same time.

Now that I'm older, a lot of things are also making me feel the same.

But, things are much more complicated now. I have to deal with the realities of life and the complexities of being an adult.

I just can't help but reminisce how precious it was back when things were simpler.

I Love Talking to People

Right after our Sunday church service and ministry duties, we went out for coffee and had some good chat.

I actually enjoy these post church service fellowship meetings.

It could also be that I just love talking to people.

Hearing about other people's lives, interests, joys and failures really help widen my perspective about life in general.

Everyone is different and we all have unique stories to tell.

I don't mind listening to all of them.

Growing Up

I was my mother's personal driver today.

She had to run some errands and she also tagged along my 4-year old nephew Abiel.

I was looking at him and I realized how fast he is growing up.

I wonder how life would treat him in the future. What challenges would he possibly face? What accomplishments could he make? What career path would he decide to choose?

His innocent mind might not be able to comprehend all of these at the moment.

He is still a young boy. But, because he is intelligent, curious and very energetic I am pretty sure he has a bright future ahead of him.

For the meantime, he just enjoys watching YouTube and playing with happy meal toys.

Blessings In Disguise

At least at one point in our lives we all experienced bad things that turned out to be good in the end. These are what we call blessings in disguise.

We cannot really understand their importance and value right at the moment. But, if we connect the dots later on we will understand that everything just happened at the right place and the right time -- whether they were negative and positive ones.

I believe life is in itself the biggest blessing that we have and it is also in disguise.

Life does have a negative ring to most of us. Life is bad. Life sucks. It sucks to be alive. We barely get by through life.

You might be going through a very difficult situation right now. You are probably experiencing life at its worst. Don't worry. The disguise is temporary.

Believe me. It gets better and better every single day that you hold on and have hope.

Life is a blessing. Enjoy it.
