Our Future House: Day 142

It was a rainy Thursday, May 3rd 2018.

Day 142 of the construction of our house.

There were some noticeable improvements. 2nd floor, half of the roof was installed, a bit of finishing and some paint job.

One problem is starting to show up though.

The progress is getting slower each week.

For reference, look at the picture above and check out the houses on the left.

Then, look at the picture below which was taken 2 months ago.

Those houses weren't even there yet!

We're not entirely sure where things are going wrong and why this is the case.

Is it the contractor? The construction workers? Did the owners of that other house pay for the equity in full already?

I really can't answer that.

We will just continue to monitor the progress in the coming weeks.

Our Future House: Day 11

December 23, 2017.

2 days before Christmas my girlfriend and her family decided to pay our house a visit.

Much to their surprise, the progress is really fast!

Look at all these pictures. Take note it is still day 11.

They were telling us it would only take 6 months to build.

But, looking at this progress it might even be sooner.

The excitement has gone through the roof! =)

What a great Christmas gift this has been. It makes me really pumped up for 2018.

Our Future House: Day 1

December 13, 2017.

Today is a very special day.

It is the groundbreaking of our future house at Westwoods Subdivision in Cagayan de Oro City.  After almost a year of paying, my girlfriend and I are finally here.

It is very exciting and fulfilling.

This will be the site where our future home and family will reside.

We are now at the next chapter of our lives and things are falling into place.

We will be visiting this site often. For sure, I will be documenting this project in this blog so I can see the progress.

Now excuse me while I imagine myself chilling in our living room. ;)

Stuck at Home

I was stuck at home the entire day today because it was raining again.

And, from where I am at when it rains, it pours.

We even reached code red. That means waters have risen at a critical level and residents at low-lying areas are forced to evacuate.

It has always been that way for the past few years. Global warming is real folks.

Add to that our city's problem of urban flooding.

Anyway, I managed to still be productive.

I work at home so I was able to do some stuff that needed to be done. Plus, I got to burn through my endless list of tasks to do.

All is well.

It's still raining as I'm typing this. Hopefully, tomorrow won't be as gloomy as it was today.

Building Our Future

Today is an important moment.

My girlfriend and I are taking a huge step for our future. We just made a huge investment.

We're investing in a home.

This will be where we'll settle down, have kids and take the next chapter of our lives.

We're slowly building our future and I know the Lord is with us every step of the way.

And, because of that I am excited for what is yet to come!

By the way, I also got a huge discount and some freebies because it's Chinese New Year.

House Shopping

We went house shopping today.

Technically, we are only eyeing one subdivision (and one house model) and we went there on a site tour.

This is probably one of the scariest investment decisions I have to make.

Getting a house is not that easy.

There are so many financial decisions to consider.

But, we're praying that God will grant this desire. I know nothing is impossible with Him and He will make things fall into place.

Looking forward to settling down in the near future. :)
