Whenever I am down, feeling stressed or tired, aside from getting some rest I turn to food.
My ultimate comfort food by the way is pizza.
New York's Finest pizza from Yellow Cab to be exact.
This week was just one of those days where I definitely needed this.
I just felt like there's too much going on and my mind just can't get a break.
So, we grabbed that whole pizza tonight.
It was definitely... comforting.
My friends call it stress eating and warned me about unhealthy eating.
But, guess what? Times like these, I just don't care.
Eat away, self. You definitely need it.
Tomorrow's going to be another weekend packed with things to do.
This eat and grill all you can restaurant has finally opened up its doors here in Cagayan de Oro city.
But for 599 pesos, is it actually worth it? Would you spend that much for a meal?
Here is the breakdown of the rates:
- 499 for lunch (except for public holidays and weekends)
- 599 for dinner
- 299 for Children below 4 feet
- Children below 3 feet are FREE
- When it's your birth month, bring 3 friends with you and you won't pay anything.
The last one is what I think most people take advantage of.
We went there for that reason. It was my girlfriend and her mother's birth month. We got a discount for the total price.
The food selection was great. Ambience is nice. Grilling is fun. Plus, they get to do this dance when it's your birthday:
But to answer the question of whether it's worth it or not -- it really depends on the person's appetite. :)
For me, it was not worth it.
I don't eat that much. I could stay there for 3 hours and still eat just 300 pesos worth of food. That's just too much money to shed on one meal.
For other people who have a bigger appetite, they can devour all they want. That 600 pesos will be very much worth it. They don't run out of food.
In the end, it's another great addition to the fancy lineup of restaurants in our ever developing city.

How can something so bad feel so good?
This food is sinful. It's way too fatty. It's way too much cholesterol. It is basically unhealthy to its core.
But, boy does it taste so good.
We call this liempo and it's the stuff Filipinos love.
I just had a lot of this tonight.
Nothing wrong with being unhealthy sometimes right?
I just have to burn all that fat tomorrow.

Peanut butter is my favorite sandwich spread.
It's the ultimate food symbol for my break time.
And, today I got some of that time.
The past few days have literally been moments of intense focus. I've never been this determined and hardworking in my entire life.
I could attribute that to my ever changing priorities. Now I got bills to pay and a future to prepare for.
I have to hustle my way through it.
However, today I got to spend some good break time.
My Internet connection has been acting up lately and I can't do any proper work.
That's why I got to spend some time for myself including writing this one for the blog.
I'm just thankful for these brief moments of relaxation. It's something I might not get that often nowadays.

Pizza, Charlie Chan Chicken Pasta and Siracha Wings.
These are all my favorite food.
What happens when all of these comfort food get stuffed in one box?
I'd have what I call the Comfort Box a.k.a. Yellow Cab's My Stuff.
It's literally their best stuff in one box. It's not that expensive too.
This brilliant idea just gave me another reason to stress eat and pig out!

This pumpkin soup kept me warm and relaxed this Sunday afternoon.
I normally have hectic weekends because of non-work commitments. Not that I do not enjoy them, but they are really draining the life out of me sometimes.
Today was one of those exhausting weekends.
I felt really tired and stressed today. But, there still are a lot of stuff to do. In fact it is already 4:30 in the morning as I am typing this.
I just keep on telling myself to "just keep hustling."
I'd rather be busy than bored.

In the Philippines, when you prepare pasta people will always think that it is someone's birthday.
Here at home it is a different story.
Everyone loves pasta and we have it once a week for no special occasion other than the fact that we all just love it.
My mom's got a signature pasta taste too.
We're not Italian. But, if there's one dish that will make me remember home it will be this.
For the love of pasta

In an effort to keep things personal, Jollibee has decided to stamp on personalized messages to everyone who will order food via drive thru.
Messages like "Enjoy the chickenjoy," "Bee happy," "Drive safely" and more. Some are handwritten notes and some are just pre-made printed cards like that.
I like this.
Simple gestures like this make me enjoy the whole buying experience.
Good job, Jollibee.

I must admit that I am a fastfood junkie. I know it is unhealthy. But, I eat a lot of Jollibee and McDonald's.
One of the newest in McDonald's menu is this Mushroom Pepper Steak. Jollibee also has their own version.
I really can't determine which one tastes better.
All I can say is that it's not worth the hype. It doesn't really taste that good. It's not that bad either.
My mom's steak actually tastes better.
At least this one is cheaper.

Named the world's most popular Filipino fast food restaurant, Jollibee was featured on BuzzFeed.
They got their staff to test out the Filipino food that Jollibee offers.
Their reactions are hilarious. I have always wondered what Americans think about our food.
This video just sums it all up:
BuzzFeed by the way is one of the most viral websites today. So, I would say this is really a huge marketing win for Jollibee.

When in Cagayan de Oro City, you sure do not want to miss out on all the lovely food in the place. From street to international cuisine, the City of Golden Friendship is filled with a variety of choices when it comes to satisfying your taste buds.
But, if you are looking for authentic Italian food look no further than Angelo's Ristorante.
The place is owned and managed by Chef Angelo Obrero who took culinary studies in Italy himself. That alone is enough to make a guarantee of the authenticity of the Italian food experience you will be getting.
I have always been a 'pizza and pasta' kind of guy. I am no Italian food expert. But, the ones they are serving do not disappoint. The food is excellent.
Here are some of their best ones.
The place is located at G/F WYM Building, Fr. Masterson Avenue, Pueblo de Oro. That is the HP building uptown. On weekdays they are open at 10AM to 10PM. On weekends, they extend up to 11PM.
I must say I really love the place and the food. I strongly recommend them to all the foodies out there.
Their food will keep you coming back. In fact, I recently just brought my girlfriend there to have dinner during our 2nd anniversary.
Chef Gelo and Chef Bling were so generous and kind enough to prepare this setup for us. It couldn't get any better than that!
